Furan Resin Diaphragm Pump
Furan Resin Diaphragm Pump Selection Analysis: J1M-180/0.5 Compatibility Verification
I. Media Characteristics and Pump Compatibility
Media Solidification Issues
Furan resin is prone to solidification when exposed to air, so a pump with strong self-priming capability and low residual volume is required. Diaphragm pumps achieve leak-free transfer through the reciprocating motion of the diaphragm, effectively reducing media residual volume and the risk of solidification. The recommended PTFE diaphragm of the J1M-180/0.5 is chemically resistant and has a smooth surface, further minimizing media adhesion.
Viscosity and Flowability
Furan resin has a form similar to gasoline, with a low viscosity and low sensitivity to pump shear forces. Diaphragm pumps do not require high-speed rotating parts, preventing shear-induced media denaturation and making them suitable for pumping low-viscosity fluids.
II. Technical Parameter Compatibility
Flow Rate and Head
Required flow rate: 1-3 L/min (60-180 L/h). The recommended model J1M-180/0.5 has a maximum flow rate of 180 L/h, fully covering the required range and can be precisely controlled by adjusting the air pressure or motor frequency.
Outlet head: 1-3 m (approximately 0.01-0.03 MPa). The pump's rated pressure of 0.5 MPa far exceeds the required flow rate, ensuring stable delivery.
Pressure and Self-Priming Capacity
Inlet Gravity Flow: Diaphragm pumps can self-prime up to a height of 4-8 m (depending on the media density), far exceeding the required flow rate and eliminating the need for additional priming devices.
Outlet Pressure: The rated pressure of 0.5 MPa can cope with fluctuations in pipeline resistance and avoid unstable flow due to insufficient pressure.
III. Material Selection and Durability
Pump Head Material
SS304 stainless steel: Resistant to general chemical corrosion, suitable for non-strong acidic or alkaline media such as furan resin. For media containing chloride ions or long-term exposure to humidity, upgrading to 316L stainless steel is recommended. Diaphragm Material
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene): Excellent chemical stability, resistant to furan resin, acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. Its smooth surface resists adhesion to media, making it suitable for fluids prone to condensation. Ensure the diaphragm thickness (typically 0.5-1.5mm) is sufficient for frequent start-stop operations.
Seals
If the recommended model does not specify the seal material, we recommend fluororubber (FKM) or PTFE-coated rubber to ensure compatibility with the chemical properties of furan resin.
IV. Selection Conclusion and Optimization Suggestions
Recommended Model Compatibility
The J1M-180/0.5 meets the requirements in terms of flow rate, pressure, and material. The combination of a PTFE diaphragm and an SS304 pump head effectively addresses corrosion and condensation issues with furan resin.
Optimization Suggestions
Material Upgrade: If the media contains chloride ions or requires higher corrosion resistance, the pump head can be equipped with 316L stainless steel.
Seal Enhancement: Specify whether the seal material is FKM or PTFE-coated rubber to extend service life.
Frequency Control: Add a frequency converter to precisely adjust the flow rate and avoid long-term low-load operation of the motor.
Insulation: Wrap the pump body or pipe with insulation to slow the condensation of furan resin in low-temperature environments.
