Today, a customer wanted to purchase a thermocouple and asked us to recommend a suitable one. He provided the following information:

Name: Temperature Sensor (Thermocouple) TPU

Purpose: Measure gas temperature in a flow calibrator (gas metering unit, DRG.M)

Sensor Element Type: Platinum Resistance Thermometer (Pt100 or Pt1000)

Measuring Range: 0…+300°C

Immersed Length (L): 120 mm

Protective Sheath Diameter: 6–8 mm (To be determined)

Sheath Material: Stainless Steel (typically 12X18H10T)

Output Signal: 100 ohm at 0°C (Pt100)

Or standard current signal 4–20 mA (converter required)

Design: Explosion-proof Exd (explosion-proof housing)

Explosion-proof Class: 1ExdIIBT4 (or similar)

Connection: Threaded (M20×1.5 or G½ (to be determined)

Protection Rating: IP65–IP67

Compatibility: DRG.M (diaphragm gas flowmeter)

Ambient Temperature: -40…+80°C

Additional Features: Can be equipped with a measuring head with terminal blocks or a 4–20 mA current converter.
