Electromagnetic Flow Meter Built Tough for Cement Slurry
Electromagnetic Flow Meter Built Tough for Cement Slurry
Cement slurry is one of the most challenging fluids to measure.
It's abrasive, conductive, and unforgiving to ordinary flow meters.
We recently worked with a client who faced exactly this problem.
Their fluid was cement slurry at ambient temperature,
operating at 1.6 MPa pressure with a flow range of 0.8 to 3 m³/h.
They needed ±0.5% accuracy, DC24V power,
4-20mA and RS485 communication, IP65 protection,
flange connections, and a local display with high-frequency converter.
After eva luating the conditions, we recommended our
Here is why it was the perfect fit.
The F46 liner resists abrasion and chemical attack—
essential for cement slurry that wears down ordinary liners quickly.
The stainless steel body with tungsten carbide electrodes
stands up to continuous particle impact without losing sensitivity.
The high-frequency converter ensures stable, responsive readings
even with low-conductivity or electrically noisy fluids.
That means consistent ±0.5% accuracy across the entire flow range.
The IP65 enclosure keeps moisture and dust out.
Flange connections provide secure, leak-free installation.
The integrated local display allows operators to read data on-site.
DC24V power matched the client's existing system.
4-20mA output sends real-time data to the PLC,
while RS485 enables remote monitoring and data logging.
The result? Reliable, accurate flow data, shift after shift,
without constant maintenance or recalibration.
This was a real installation solving a real problem on-site.
If your application involves cement slurry, abrasive fluids,
or any challenging conductive liquid, we have been there before.
We know what works.
